Cruz bought this last year, so my turtle Stinkpot could dry out of their shell. As already stated, it is aesthetically pleasing, but did the job. After a few months, the suction cups to suck less left the cup, the weeds grew very easily. Even after washing, the algae back soon. So, my turtle that bit gross! I hope you do not get sick! By Lori I resisted these things for years because I preferred to build natural stone platforms, but it gets complicated if you want to increase the water level above 6 inches. What I like about this dock is that it gives my Turt a nice big surface to climb and enjoy the sun, but still has all that room swimming underneath. Stages, I had two blocks, since they were born and I was able to use the zoo med turtle dock for about 2-3 months because of various problems. Most useful reviews 25 of 25 people found this review helpful. Most large aquarium from a client that I've owned this tank for 3 years. It looks great sitting on my kitchen table. I could have been more consistent about cleaning the system (approximately 1 time per month), but generally fish have thrived. Some of the mistakes I've made are: 1) believes that bio-wheel must be replaced occasionally (do not go there) 2) let the light too much that they created an algae bloom, and 3) purchase of fish that gets too big to the small aquarium. I made those mistakes in the first year. Since then, it was smooth sailing except the lamp burn out. The light switch is pretty cheap, so repeated use induced the breach. I create another system of lights as I was not able to order a new part, except for the cover the entire device (which costs the same as the aquarium) but is not very satisfactory. I decided to send the tank back almost immediately because I have the quality and design to find the tank to be pretty disappointing ... especially coming as Marineland. First, scratch the tank body acrylic easy, especially compared to my other group of different manufacturers acrylic Although the foam packing material did not appear to be well protected. The top and bottom of the tank is full of scratches so obviously out of the box! The filter that comes with that is made of thin plastic and not doing well in the chamber appointed for this purpose. Almost every time I opened it, found the filter system because the cords got caught in the hinge. The strings of the filter and the light must go through a very narrow opening near the hinge on the idea. The tank comes with a clip to keep them, but it really does not help much. Order a book or two to have fish at the aquarium also order and wait a week before getting fish. In recent years, you'd have all kinds of work with filters and such. With bio-wheel that comes with that tank of his only job is to occasionally replace the "natural" filter and do a partial water change. That's it! The tank also comes with a beautiful light that will really shine your fish. You will need some gravel too and some plants and maybe a stone or two for the fish to hide behind. Gravel and this is best obtained at your local pet store. Start with plastic plants instead of live plants, has much to do anyway. In my experience things are easier if you have a heater too. The fish like the water temperature is constant. I'm using a 150w heater in this tank successfully Come run with the tank heater for a day or two to get the temperature stable. When you add the first fish, start with just a few small fish (actually, a 12-liter tank should always be only small fish, small tetras and such - do not worry, they are beautiful) to the bio-wheel going. His books explain it, but it takes some time for the biological processes that go into the tank and keep things in balance, so that water can quickly reach toxic to fish if you add a lot. (Get a package of test strips to test water quality every day - is when it starts later, the bio-wheel to keep things stable, unless you keep a lot of fish in the tank).
